Christmas Pictures

So I wanted to get some cute Christmas pictures of Aidyn in his little Christmas suit and pj's. My cousin was kind enough to take some. She did a great job...Aidyn, on the other hand, was a little stinker and was having an attitude pretty much the whole time! lol I know he didn't really understand the whole concept of mommy wanting some cute "baby's first Christmas" photos...but I wish he would have worked with me a little bit! We did get some cute ones though, so it turned out okay in the end. We had to distract him quite a bit with ornaments and toys and books, so hopefully I can crop some of those things out of the pictures. He sure is a cutie though, and I can't believe that in 2 days he'll have his first Christmas! I'm getting pretty excited :)

Every kiss begins with Kay

video
About the only shows that Aidyn will actually watch are Baby Einstein and Dora. When he's playing and the TV is on in the background he usually doesn't pay attention. But he loves the Kay Jewelers commercial where some lady is singing "I got you babe" all slow and quiet. He'll stop what he's doing and watch the whole thing before going back to playing. It's so cute and funny :)

Gingerbread weekend and Sitting with Santa

Every year after Thanksgiving, the Hones get together in what we call "Gingerbread Weekend". We get a hotel, or this year we stayed at Mutual Dell, and we just hang out and make gingerbread houses and just have a good time. It was SUPER COLD up in the mountains! Luckily it didn't snow while we were there...or I would have been sad. I didn't take too many pictures, but here are our gingerbread houses. I'm not as creative as the rest of the Hones...but I think mine turned out cute. The boys get to make theirs out of graham crackers, and Brett had his "blue prints" made out for a few months ahead of time.
My cute little house
Brett's GIANT graham cracker castle!
Aidyn played in his stroller a lot since the floor wasn't carpeted and was cold. He had lots of fun though :)
Saturday I went to my parents ward party so Aidyn could sit in Santa's lap. I figure it's easier (and cheaper) than trying to go to the mall and stand in line for hours to get a good picture. I was worried he was going to fuss and cry, but we distracted him with a candy cane and he didn't cry at all! :) I don't think he knew who was holding him, because he didn't look up at Santa the entire time he was on his lap! I got some pics (this is the best one I could find), my parents took some, and a ward member was taking some, so hopefully we'll have a good one to put in his book.
Oh-Friday night Brett and I went to The Forgotten Carols. I LOVE that play! Brett and I first went when we were dating, and I decided to make it our yearly tradition. It was super good this year, and I got messages from the songs that I hadn't before. It is such a great show, and it makes a great start to the Christmas season, and makes me so grateful for the things I have in my life!

Decorations of red and a green Christmas tree...

I was sort of dreading putting up Christmas stuff this year because my sweet little Aidyn is kinda a terror and into EVERYTHING! I was worried I was going to have to not put out some of my things so he wouldn't get to them. But so far, he isn't interested in anything...well except for a Christmas candy bowl I have, but I can handle that. We even tried to get him interested in the tree while we were decorating and putting his ornament on, but other than looking at the sparkly lights, he didn't care about it. What a relief! :) As usual, I started to cry when we put his "baby's first Christmas" ornament on the tree. I can't believe he is almost 10 months old. I never posted about his 9 month mark, but he is growing so much. Sitting up on his own, crawling so fast, pulling himself up onto things, and almost brave enough to tackle the stairs. He can grab cheereos and other foods with his thumb and pointer finger and get it straight to his mouth! It's so cute. He loves waffles and pancakes and cookies...and depending on the Sunday, he'll eat the Sacrament bread too :) I just can't believe that in 2 months I'll be planning a birthday party! *sniff sniff*
Anywho...we bought stockings back in September and Brett put all our names on them. And my Willow Tree Nativity is coming together piece by piece. Hopefully I'll have the whole thing in the next couple of years! I'm excited for the Christmas season and all that comes with it. I just hope I can keep my mommy emotions is check... :)
